Biography
Rochelle Allan is an Anishinaabemowin learner and parent in Toronto. She has been learning and sharing the language for the last 10 years. She now maintains an Anishinaabemowin speaking home with her children and continues to work to improve her language and share her experiences with other learners and families. Rochelle is non-status (her father is a member of Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation) but she has had the opportunity to learn from and work with people, families and programs in a variety of communities.
The Indigenous Language Revitalization Partnership Coordinator role at UofT enables her to support Indigenous faculty focused on language revitalization to expand and re-imagine the role that reseach plays in their community work and teaching at the University of Toronto.
